We highlight #WorldRefugeeDay with this image from 1914 taken during the First World War, to commemorate the strength, courage, and perseverance of refugees. The image shows Belgian refugee children boarding a London General Omnibus Company B.-type bus in Aldwych. As many as 250,000 Belgian refugees came to Britain and were housed in hostels and private houses in London. There was much sympathy for the refugees and what they had experienced under German occupation #LTMCollections #WithRefugees
